Your Spotify playlists, kept in step on YouTube Music.
Humneo copies a playlist from one service to the other, run from its own servers so nothing has to stay running on your computer. It works in either direction, and a song it cannot find is listed by name, not guessed.
7 days free, then $3 a month or $24 a year.
How it works
-
Connect Spotify and YouTube Music
Sign in to each service from inside Humneo. For YouTube Music you also add your own API access, a one-time setup the note below explains.
-
Pick a playlist and a direction
Choose the playlist that is the source of truth. Humneo creates the copy on the other service, or uses one you already have, and matches every song.
-
Run it again to keep the copy in step
Each time you run a sync, Humneo reads the source again and brings the copy up to date: new songs added, removed songs taken out, order preserved. Anything it could not match is listed for you by name.
What it does, and what it does not
Does
- Sync in either direction Spotify to YouTube Music, or YouTube Music to Spotify, chosen per playlist.
- Match on the recording's catalogue number first Where a service returns an ISRC, the match is exact. Where it does not, Humneo matches on title, artist and length, and marks the result so you can check it.
- Tell you what it could not match Every unmatched song is listed with its name. Nothing is silently dropped.
- Run on its own servers Your computer doesn't need to stay on. A sync runs on Humneo's servers, not yours.
- Start a playlist from a pasted list of songs Paste a list of song titles and Humneo creates a playlist from it on whichever service you pick, matching each one the same way a sync does.
Does not
- Merge edits from both sides Each synced playlist has one source and one copy. The source wins, so a change made on the copy is overwritten at the next check.
- Guess at a song that is missing If the other service does not have the recording, no substitute is added. The song stays on the unmatched list until you choose one by hand.
- Touch playlists you did not pick Only the playlists you choose are read or written.
- Move liked songs, albums or history Playlists only.
One plan
Every account gets the same thing: as many playlists as you like, synced in either direction, whenever you run them. There is no bigger tier.

Why Humneo asks for your own YouTube API access, for now
Humneo reads and writes YouTube Music playlists through the YouTube Data API v3, the interface Google publishes for exactly this. Google gives each Cloud project 10,000 quota units a day, and finding one song by search costs 100 of them. One shared project would run out after about a hundred new songs a day across every user combined.
Until Google approves a higher quota for a shared Humneo project, each user creates a Google Cloud project of their own, creates an OAuth client inside it, and gives Humneo that client's ID and secret. Humneo then calls the YouTube Data API with those credentials, on that user's behalf, and only to read and manage playlists on that user's own YouTube account. The setup takes about ten minutes.
This is a stopgap, not the intended design. Hilachem Ventures LLC is requesting a quota extension for a single shared Humneo project. Once it is approved, this step goes away and existing accounts move over without any action on your part. You can delete the credentials by emailing hello@hilachemventures.com at any time, and revoke Humneo's access from your Google account as well.
By connecting YouTube Music you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to the data Google holds.
Questions
Does it sync from YouTube Music to Spotify as well?
Yes. Direction is set per playlist, so one playlist can flow from Spotify and another from YouTube Music.
How often does it check?
Whenever you run it, from your account — there is nothing to leave running on your own computer. Automatic, unattended syncing on your own schedule is planned; today each sync is something you trigger.
What happens to a song the other service does not have?
It is listed by name as unmatched and the rest of the playlist syncs as normal. You can pick a replacement yourself, or leave it.
Why are some YouTube Music matches marked "by title and length"?
YouTube's search does not return ISRCs, the catalogue numbers that make a match exact, so every song going to YouTube Music is matched on title, artist and length instead. Humneo filters out results whose length differs by more than three seconds and strips words like "official video" before comparing, then marks the match so you can confirm it.
What does Humneo have access to?
On Spotify, permission to read your playlists, including private ones, create and modify playlists, and read your basic profile. On YouTube, the "Manage your YouTube account" permission — the narrowest Google offers for creating and editing playlists. Humneo uses it only on the playlists you pick, and you can disconnect either service by emailing hello@hilachemventures.com or from Spotify's and Google's own account settings.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time, by emailing hello@hilachemventures.com.
Who makes Humneo?
Hilachem Ventures LLC, a small company in the United States. The sync engine began as its founder's own tool for keeping his playlists in step. The name is from the Greek hymneo, to sing: two services, one song.
Pick a playlist. Humneo keeps the other one honest.
